Made in Group members and patrons virtually gathered to find out more about the group’s latest project ‘Made Angels’. The aim of the venture is to create a support community of businesses, entrepreneurs and investors looking to support, save, invest and rescue  British businesses. With the help of the group and members involved, Made Angels will strive to find ethical investors, offer guidance and a wealth of knowledge to save British owned manufacturing companies.

Business representatives from the likes of Brewin Dolphin, Clarion and FBC Manby Bowdler, patrons of Made the Group, joined to find out how they could help with the ‘Made Angels’ initiative. The initial idea is to hold four events a year where members and patrons of the Made in Group can connect, have conversations around investment and offer guidance to businesses in need to create a community of support within the group.

Andy Moore, Entrepreneur, Business Angel and Advisor will be heavily involved in Made Angels to offer his expertise and help businesses. As a Director of over 100 Companies including 13  public limited companies listed in London in his career, Andy will oversee  Made Angels due to understanding the tricky legal process of investing, rescuing and saving businesses that get into difficulty. Andy said:

“Made Angels are an opportunity to support, help and save businesses that have difficulty due to COVID, Brexit and other issues and perhaps to form a truly British PLC in the future to save and own  British businesses, I can offer the understanding of how companies can be saved and rescued. If you hear of companies in need of our support, we have a network of businesses, entrepreneurs, and professionals that can offer them the right help, support and advice.”

The members who took part in the first meeting regarding the Made Angels group were enthusiastic to get involved, many suggested that the group should offer specialist guidance to businesses and investors such as understanding their purpose for investing in the business and what their goals are for the business in the future. Many believed that this will ensure a sense of community and will allow the right investors to come forward to take over British businesses and create greater domestic ownership of British businesses after Brexit.

With the help of patrons and members Made Angels can try to understand how businesses interact with each other under-investment circumstances and strive towards creating a way of protecting British businesses within the Made in Group community. Those involved will be offered sponsorship and representation on the Made Angels website, which will be used as a platform for ethical investors and individuals looking to buy, sell, invest in businesses.
