By Made In Group
schedule18th Mar 20

As of Tuesday 17th March 2020, The Made in Group team have plans in place to work remotely following Government advice issued the day before on 16th March.

However, we uderstand that this can be difficult if you work colloboratively with other members of your team, like we do. Therefore we would like to share a few of our own resources with you to make it easier when working from home or wherever you may be.

The PM delivered his first daily update yesterday on his plans help prevent the spread of COVID-19. This included advice to citizens over 70 to stay in  their homes and the ban of mass gatherings. So far, 1,543 people have the virus in the UK, according to the latest department of health figures.

However one of the major peices of advise as a result of yesterday's Cobra Commitee meeting was for the public to avoid non-essential travel and contact with others to help stop the virus spreading further. This includes working from home, if you can, avoiding unesscessary visits to friends and family in care homes and avoiding gatherings and crowded places, such as theatres clubs and pubs.

The Made in Group uses a number of resources to make working remotely as easy as possible, we use these certain softwares in our day to day work wheather in the office or not. Keep reading to discover some resources that could help your business work away from work...

1. Google hangouts

Google hangouts is a great way to set up conferences or one to one meetings. With the option of using only audio or video and audio, you can hold your meetings however you are comfortable. All you need to do is make a meeting in Google Calendar, invite who you would like using their email address and then click on the link on the invite that says "google hangouts".

2. Slack

Another great way to communicate with your team mates whilst working remotely is through Slack. In this application you are able to create different channels for projects you may be working on, therefore if only three of your team are working on a project, you can create a channel for those three people only.
