Who Are the Guest Speakers for the Backing Britain 3.0 Expo?

The upcoming Backing Britain 3.0 by the Made in Group will see an online exhibition combined with in-person events at first-class venues, featuring celebrity and industry-leading guest speakers.

Strategically placed in relation to both Made in the Midlands and Made in Yorkshire, there will be networking events for members at Derby, Wolverhampton and Leeds. There will be 3 celebrity speakers and 4 industry speakers in total at these events.

Each physical event will also give Gold and Silver members the option to choose which member's factory to visit, through a virtual floor plan of QR codes, and virtual reality headsets scattered around the in-person venue. 

 

Wolverhampton (April 26th)

The celebrity speaker for the first in-person event of Backing Britain 3.0 will feature Robert Llewellyn - the British actor, comedian, presenter and writer. The industry speaker for this event will be Dr Mark Bentall, Head of Technology Operations at Airbus.

 

Derby (April 27th)

For this Midlands-based event, the celebrity guest speaker will be Jo Salter, who was Britain's first female fast jet pilot flying the Panavia Tornado ground attack aircraft with 617 Squadron. The event will feature two industry speakers - Ian Gardner, the Distinguished Technical Specialist, and Industry 4.0 Solutions Architect at IBM - as well as the prestiged Graeme Hackland, CIO at the Williams F1 Team.

 

Leeds (April 27th)

The final in-person "fringe" event of Backing Britian 3.0 will take place in Yorkshire. The speaker for this event will be Janet Mui, Award-winning commentator and media spokesperson with over a decade of experience as economist/strategist; alongside Andy Palmer, Vice Chairman & Executive Officer at Switch Mobility.
