Empowering Women Engineers: Made Equal Impact

By Made In Group
schedule23rd Jun 23

Made in Yorkshire and Made in the Midlands members will be aware that at Made in Group we’re passionate about championing talent from underrepresented groups, and there are few better days to do this than today, on International Women in Engineering Day.

We are also delighted to announce that several companies have joined the movement this week by signing the Made Equal Employer pledge. We would like to express our gratitude to Central Fasteners, Additive-X, Transicon, and Ansaldo Nuclear for their commitment to fostering equality and embracing diversity. In line with this momentum, Made is expanding its Made Equal and Made Futures employer branding project, aiming to help employers reach out to women and other underrepresented demographics. This initiative is designed to supercharge your employer branding efforts, expand your pool of diverse talent, and facilitate the sharing of inclusive recruitment best practices.

Unleashing the Power of Inclusion:
In the face of an unprecedented skills shortage in the manufacturing sector, it has become increasingly crucial to adopt an inclusive approach to recruitment. To support this endeavour, Made is offering a comprehensive employer toolkit and resources to all members who sign up for our inclusion pledge. By leveraging the Made Futures and Made Equal marques, you can enhance your employer branding strategies and attract a more diverse talent pool.

The Employer Toolkit:
Our employer toolkit includes a range of high-quality 'Made' employer branding logos and assets. In addition, members gain access to valuable resources through the Made Platform, enabling them to post job vacancies on the Made Futures job board. The platform also offers a job vacancy template for creating customised social ads. By utilising these tools, you can effectively communicate your organisation's dedication to diversity and inclusion, both internally and externally.

Taking the Pledge:
Accessing the employer toolkit and resources is simple—just sign up for our five-step inclusive employer pledge. By committing to this pledge, you become part of a community of like-minded organisations dedicated to driving positive change. Detailed information on the pledge and how to sign up can be found in the member dashboard by navigating to the resource section in the user menu.

Sharing Best Practices:
As we embark on this journey toward a more inclusive workforce, we invite you to share your success stories and experiences with us. We are eager to learn about all aspects of inclusion and how you attract diverse talent. These stories not only serve as a means of celebrating achievements but also inspire others and facilitate continuous improvement. Please feel free to email us with your stories and insights.

Conclusion:
On this International Women's Day, we renew our commitment to empowering women and other underrepresented demographics within the manufacturing industry. We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Central Fasteners, Additive-X, Transicon, and Ansaldo Nuclear for joining the movement and signing the Made Equal Employer pledge. By leveraging the Made Equal and Made Futures employer branding project, you can supercharge your employer branding efforts, expand your pool of diverse talent, and share inclusive recruitment best practices. Let us embrace the power of inclusion and work together to shape a future where everyone has an equal opportunity to succeed.
