Made in Yorkshire members took part in the group's first ever virtual breakfast morning today. Beginning bright and early at 9am on Wednesday 6th May, it was fantastic to see so many familiar faces involved and a few newcomers also.
Whilst the current situation may have undoubtedly brought with it some unprecedented challenges, the resilience and enthusiasm of the sector could be seen and heard clearly through the positivity of our members in attendance.
Made in Yorkshire is a community of more than 100 Yorkshire manufacturers. Combined with sister brand Made in the Midlands the Made in Group represents more than 600 industrials and supporters of British manufacturing. This latest event will be based around sharing best practice, showcasing members businesses via our annual exhibition and social interaction. Our events have migrated to virtual events with a new Virtual Exhibition in August, virtual breakfast mornings and virtual mastermind groups.
This event was hosted by Jason Pitt (CEO of Made in Yorkshire) and Ian Brown (President and Director of Teconnex Teconnex Ltd.). Following on from a 5 minute presentation from both of these hosts, members were invited to introduce themselves via their 60 second pitch and then we will use Zoom breakout rooms to network in smaller groups.
Made in Yorkshire will be hosting more of these events in the future, in which members can network with each other, share best practices, discuss industry challenges and solutions, and socialise virtually. The event was conducted via the video conferencing application Zoom and attendees could join through the Virtual Meetings section of the backend of the Made website.
We would like to thank all of our members who attended, and for those of you who were not able to this time, we look forward to seeing you at one of our other virtual events in the near future.
