Made in Yorkshire, a network supporting manufacturers across the region, has relocated its operations to West Yorkshire Manufacturing Services (WYMS) in Brighouse. This move aligns with WYMS's mission to enhance regional industrial development through accredited training, business support, and workforce development.
As part of their expansion, Made in Yorkshire has welcomed Curt Stennett, a seasoned professional from a Yorkshire-based publications company, to their team. Stennett will work alongside Sam Sleight to expand the community and build deeper relationships with local manufacturers. With a background in supply chains, logistics, and warehousing, Curt brings valuable industry insights and a passion for Yorkshire. “I'm excited to engage with the Yorkshire manufacturing community, help businesses connect, and share best practices,” Curt shared.
This strategic relocation underscores Made in Yorkshire's mission to unite the regional manufacturing community, enabling members to access exclusive networking events, best-practice sharing, and opportunities for collaboration. Their focus on innovation is evident through hybrid events and efforts toward Net Zero, which encourage sustainable manufacturing practices.
CEO Jason Pitt emphasised the company's commitment: “We’ve worked hard to rebuild the Yorkshire community post-pandemic. Our goal is to unite British industry. Once we’re committed to a region, we fight hard to lift the profile and presence of its companies. Yorkshire plays a pivotal role in leveling up the North of England, and the community's patriotism and friendliness are something we are proud to be part of.”
The collaboration with WYMS allows Made in Yorkshire to leverage local expertise and infrastructure to better serve its members. WYMS's facilities provide a robust platform for training and development, essential for advancing the skills of Yorkshire's workforce and boosting the region’s manufacturing capabilities.
The move has been well received by the community, with local businesses eager to take advantage of the expanded offerings. Made in Yorkshire's presence at WYMS opens new avenues for networking, collaboration, and growth. Members are encouraged to meet the new team at upcoming events, including a Westminster social on December 5th, where Curt and Sam will be available to discuss the latest initiatives and opportunities for collaboration.
As Made in Yorkshire continues to grow its footprint, the organisation remains committed to fostering a strong, united manufacturing community in Yorkshire. The collaboration with WYMS and the addition of Curt Stennett to the team mark significant steps toward achieving that goal, ensuring that Yorkshire’s manufacturers have the support and resources they need to thrive in an ever-evolving industry landscape.
