The Made in Group is excited to announce the appointment of Mark Deadman, a seasoned marketing and media professional with more than three decades of experience in the engineering and manufacturing sectors. Mark joins the team with a clear mission: to help grow the Made in Group’s national network and foster stronger connections among its members across the UK.
With an impressive 35-year career in B2B marketing, Mark has worked extensively within the machine tool, composites, and aerospace sectors. His early career began in publishing with Findlay Publications, where he first entered the world of engineering media. Since then, he has been a constant presence in the industry, adapting to changes and leading the transition from traditional media into the digital age.
On of Mark's recent roles, was with MTDCNC, a platform promoting the machine tool industry through digital and video content. There, he not only helped elevate the profiles of engineering businesses but also became a familiar face at major UK trade shows. In addition to his media work, Mark has hosted several industry-focused podcasts, further showcasing his deep understanding of the sector and commitment to promoting UK manufacturing.
Jason Pitt, CEO of the Made in Group, commented on Mark’s appointment:
“Mark brings a wealth of knowledge and insight into the UK engineering sector. His experience spans both domestic and international markets, and he’s played a pivotal role in championing British industry. From his early days in publishing to his recent work in digital media with MTDCNC, Mark has continually demonstrated an ability to evolve with the industry and connect with its key players.”
Mark’s specialities read like a toolkit for modern industrial marketing: growth strategy, LinkedIn lead generation, inbound marketing, content creation, and HubSpot automation, to name a few. His hands-on expertise in videography, and social media positions him perfectly to support the Made in Group’s mission of digital transformation and member engagement.
But Mark’s connection to engineering goes far beyond his professional career. Raised in a family where his father was an engineer, Mark developed an early appreciation for the industry that would later shape his career. His passion also extends to the racetrack, where he once took part in motorcycle racing — an experience that mirrors his drive and energy in the business world.
Speaking about his new role, Mark said:
“I’m thrilled to be joining the Made in Group at such an exciting time. The UK manufacturing sector has incredible stories to tell, and I’m passionate about helping businesses share those stories, build connections, and ultimately grow stronger together. I’ve spent my career championing this industry, and I see this role as a natural continuation of that journey.”
The Made in Group — which includes both Made in the Midlands and Made in Yorkshire — has been steadily expanding its reach, building a strong network of manufacturers committed to collaboration and growth. Mark’s appointment signals a strategic move to amplify this mission on a national level, using cutting-edge marketing tools and authentic storytelling to bring manufacturers closer together.
With Mark on board, the Made in Group is set to enhance its visibility, value, and support for members across the UK. His appointment is not just a new chapter for the Group — it's a reaffirmation of its commitment to innovation, industry pride, and a united future for British manufacturing.
