The BBC has announced that the Prime Minister or a senior minister will give daily updates on the UK’s plans to tackle Coronavirus. This follows criticism made due to the “lack of transparency” over its plans to hold off the spread of the virus.

The first media briefing regarding the virus will take place this afternoon, Monday 16th March, following the latest meeting of the government's emergency Cobra committee. In the meeting, the Government could make additional plans to stop the spread. This will consist of more plans to protect the elderly and vulnerable as well as looking at whether mass gatherings should be banned, as already actioned in other countries such as Poland and Italy.

As members of the Made in Group, you will receive daily updates on COVID-19 when released from Government. Following this, we will also provide additional resources and links that coincide with what is released in the media. Alongside this, we will also have advice and thoughts from Made in Group CEO Jason Pitt.

Talking about what he thinks of the daily updates coming from the Government, Jason said:

“I think the Government has been incredibly laid back considering the current climate. I think it is important we scrutinise the Government now more than ever. It is advisable that communities act independently for the welfare of society.”

Though the matter of COVID-19 is serious and worrying, it is important that we all stay positive during a time of crisis. By doing this, we are able to think clearly and logically when dealing with the outcomes.
